The trophy for the 2024 AZ Awards, created by Evan Jerry of Studio Anansi for the international architecture and design competition organized by the Canadian magazine Azure, celebrates the creative journey and the power of design to transform ideas into tangible forms. Inspired by cylindrical offcuts from the natural stone industry, the designer used the scale and shape of these materials as the foundation for the piece.
The production was carried out by Olivah, which transformed the offcuts into unique sculptures. The process combined CNC Lathe machining with precise hand finishing, preserving the project’s aesthetic. The trophies were then shipped to Canada, where they will be presented to the winners in a celebration of creativity and conscious design.
