In the Algarve, material culture evolved from the interplay between the land, necessity, and ingenuity. Algarve Brecha is an integral part of the region’s geological identity, while tinwork has been a constant presence in the everyday lives of rural communities for generations, taking the form of simple, functional, and durable objects.
It was the observation of this world that gave rise to this collection. Buckets, funnels, bottle racks, and custom-designed pieces are no longer seen merely as utensils; instead, they reveal the constructive intelligence of tinwork, where every fold, joint, and connection results from deep technical knowledge. Miguel Soeiro revives this language, reinterpreting it through contemporary design.
Developed under the curation and production direction of Olivah, the collection took shape through close collaboration between the designer, the stone industry, and master tinsmiths. Stone supplied by Rocha Verde and transformed by Alfredo Antunes Flor meets the tinwork crafted by David Fernandes, creating a dialogue in which utilitarian forms from everyday life take on a new sculptural expression without losing the memory of the craft.
More than simply reinterpreting tinwork, the collection demonstrates that everyday objects can continue to tell the story of a territory, preserving the intelligence of traditional craftsmanship through contemporary design.
