At the crossroads between ancestral gestures and the precision of contemporary craftsmanship, Studio Anansi's collection, conceived by designer Evan Jerry, emerges as an echo of the Portuguese landscape. Inspired by the ancient rock engravings of the Côa Valley, it evokes the organic counters of animals traced by hand on stone millennia ago.
The schist, sourced from the north of the country in the Côa region and supplied by Silaco, was worked in such a way as to preserve its geological layers, revealing the time inscribed on each blade. In subtle and complementary contrast, the wood of the
acacia was processed by Mercado da Madeira, and some of the pieces took shape in the hands of craftsman Celestino Castro, whose mastery gave each creation a unique character and finish.
Produced and curated by Olivah, this collection consists of a dining table, a console, a centerpiece, a bench and a stool. Each piece has been conceived as part of the same gesture, forming a cohesive whole that transports us, visually and sensorially, to the symbols of the engravings of the past, where form, matter and memory communicate in a single voice.
A creation promoted by ASSIMAGRA, with funding from the PRR under the Sustainable Stone by Portugal Green Agenda.
