Arabescato is a marble formed through the slow transformation of ancient limestones, subjected to time, pressure, and temperature. In this process, the material recrystallizes, forming a mosaic of calcite crystals.
Its veining results from internal movements within the stone — tensions and natural rrecementation recorded over time. Each block presents its own rhythm, with variations in density and contrast.
In Portugal, it is associated with the Estremoz Anticline, particularly in areas such as Pardais and Vila Viçosa.
In application, it adapts to different scales, allowing for continuous readings or compositions where the stone’s pattern becomes more prominent.
