Broot at Milan Design Week

2025

A meeting between tradition and innovation

In April 2025, we embarked on an experience that will go down in the history of Olivah and the Broot project: our participation in Milan Design Week, one of the most iconic events in the world of design, which brings together designers, architects, artists, and enthusiasts of innovation and creativity. With the theme "Mondi Connessi" (“Connected Worlds”), this year’s edition invited us to reflect on how design can integrate different dimensions of human life, from the natural environment to emerging technologies, encompassing our roots and traditions all the way to the futures we imagine.

With major events such as the Salone del Mobile and Fuorisalone, Milan has once again become a living laboratory, where design comes to life on the streets, in galleries, in historic neighborhoods, and in conversations among designers from around the world.

Creativity in the Brera Design District

Being part of an event the size of Fuorisalone has always been a desire of the Olivah team. Seeing that dream come true with the Dialogues collection from the Broot project was a deeply special moment.

The exhibition took place in the Brera Design District, a vibrant area full of history and creativity. There, we presented pieces that not only celebrate Portuguese natural stone, but also propose new ways of looking at the territory, the materials and the stories they carry.

The reception was warm and enthusiastic. Designers, architects, gallery owners and curious people from different countries visited the exhibition and were touched by the textures, shapes and narratives printed on the pieces.

What we brought back from Milan

Participating in Milan Design Week and presenting the Broot project was an opportunity to learn, listen, and share ideas. We had enriching conversations with people from all over the world and felt enriched by being open to different perspectives and ways of doing things.

We bring with us not only the pride of having represented Portugal and natural stone, which is our passion, but also a series of ideas, inspirations and connections that will surely continue to bear fruit in the next projects.

Milan confirmed what we already knew, that design has the power to connect, transform and move.
